I graduated from the University of Vienna in 2016 with an M.Sc. in Molecular Biology. For my thesis, I worked on the signaling and genetic regulation of self-renewal, commitment and differentiation of mouse cardiac stem cells in Georg Weitzer’s lab at the Max F. Perutz Laboratories, Vienna. Thereafter, I joined the lab of Josef Penninger at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA), Vienna, for an internship, during which I focused on establishing methods for the differentiation of embryonic stem cells into keratinocytes. This interest in stem cell biology has prompted me to join the Rink lab in 2017 for my PhD studies, where I am currently investigating the transcriptional foundations of pluripotency and cell fate decisions in planarians.
