During my bachelor's thesis in biomedicine in Würzburg, I first got the opportunity to work with the fox tapeworm, a nasty parasite to foxes, mice and sometimes humans. I really liked the worms, but left them in order to move to Göttingen to study for my master's degree in the IMPRS for molecular biology. For my thesis I stopped by in microbiology; but I found that I wanted to stay with multicellular organisms, especially worms, to find out more about their fascinating abilities. Now I am a PhD student in the Rink lab where I investigate patterning mechanisms in planarian regeneration. Besides that, my favorite hobbies are cooking and knitting. I am also a mentor and design exam questions for school students at the Biology Olympiad and the European Olympiad of Experimental Sciences.
