MS-based quantification
Proteomic analyses using mass spectrometry are performed in qualitative and/or quantitative manner. Quantitative mass spectrometric analyses reveal the protein amount in two different samples (relative quantification) and also the absolute of a protein in a sample (absolute quantification). For relative quantification experiments we apply chemical labelling with reagents containing stable isotopes (iTRAQ and TMT) and metabolic labelling using SILAC.
