Before joining the Lorenz lab in March 2020, I studied biology at the Technical University of Darmstadt. I used mandatory and voluntary internships during my studies to gain some insights into the healthcare industry, accumulating to ~1.5 years of work experience at Merck and Abbott. I completed my MSc thesis during a six-month research stay in Prof. Dario Alessi’s lab at the MRC Protein Phosphorylation and Ubiquitination Unit in Dundee, Scottland, where I investigated signalling pathways associated with Parkinson’s disease under supervision of Dr. Esther Sammler.
