I studied Biochemistry at the University of Seville, where I first started to work on protein-protein interactions. To complete my MSc in Molecular Biology at the University of Granada/Spain, I had the opportunity to carry out my MSc thesis at the University of Belfast/Northern Ireland, where I acquired experience in computational analyses. Motivated to better understand biology from a structural perspective, I joined Prof. Díaz-Moreno’s group at the Institute for Chemical Research (IIQ) in Seville for my PhD. There, I focused on the dynamics and functional implications of phosphorylation in the RNA-binding protein Human antigen R, gaining expertise in biochemical and biophysical techniques. I am delighted to continue my scientific career as a postdoc in Dr. Lorenz’s lab to study HACE1-dependent ubiquitination and further explore posttranslational modifications through integrated, structural and cell-based methods.
