Mrinmoy completed his BS-MS dual degree at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata. For his Master’s thesis, he joined Sanjeev Galande’s laboratory at IISER Pune, where he studied the epigenetic regulation of regeneration in Hydra and development in zebrafish. He then moved to Germany to pursue his PhD in the laboratory of Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla at Helmholtz Munich, where he was a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher. His doctoral research focused on how nuclear organization and chromatin dynamics influence developmental processes in early mouse embryos. In April 2025, Mrinmoy joined the Schuh lab. Here, he investigates the role of ovarian long-lived proteins in the unique cellular biology of mammalian oocytes.
