I am a population geneticist interested in how the history, climate, distribution and speciation have shaped a species and its populations. During my PhD, I generated genome assemblies of multiple endemic and native Indian plants and performed comparative genomic and transcriptomic analyses. Additionally, I also worked on population genomics of peafowls and other vertebrate and non vertebrate species. I want to work on diverse species and investigate the patterns of speciation, admixture and introgression between populations and species. In the Rink lab, I will focus on elucidating genomic mechanisms involved in regeneration and asexuality in flatworm genomes.
