I obtained BSc and MSc degrees in Medical Biology at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Through an internship in the laboratory of Dr. Tim Clausen at the IMP Vienna I became fascinated with the ubiquitin field. To pursue further studies in this area, I first joined the research group of Prof. Doris Hellerschmied at Duisburg-Essen as an MSc student, focusing on E3 ligases. These enzymes really captivated my interest, so I decided to continue my journey in the ubiquitin field as part of the Lorenz Lab, now combining biochemistry with selected structural biology tools. Since August 2024, I have been a PhD student here at MPI-NAT.
