In July 1990, Silke finished her professional training as a biological laboratory technician. Since then, she has been working with the MPI-BPC (since 2022 MPI-NAT) in different departments. She learned a variety of different methods and techniquess depending on the focus of each department she worked with. She dealt, amongst others, with NMR-spectroscopy and different cell biological methods. She is experienced in working with histological techniques, gained expertise in the field of embryology, micromanipulation and aggregation. Since June 2015, she works with Dr. Melina Schuh, Department of Meiosis. She takes care of the documentation and databases, helps with lab logistics, lab safety issues and supports the scientists with her broad knowledge of methods and techniques.
