Qiuyan received her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biological Sciences from Tsinghua University, China, in 2020 and 2025, respectively. During her doctoral studies in Dr. Wei Xie’s laboratory, she focused on understanding how the human genome becomes transcriptionally active after fertilization and uncovered regulatory roles of key transcription factors in early embryonic development. In 2025, she joined the Schuh lab as a postdoctoral fellow to further explore the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing female germ cell development.
