Elena completed both her BSc (2019) and MSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics (2022) at the University of Pavia, studying oocytes’ development and growth. To broaden her scientific horizons, she successfully applied to IUSS Pavia, at School of Advanced Studies that supported her education with a fellowship and allowed her to obtain an additional MSc in Biomedical Sciences (2022). In 2021, Elena was awarded with a fellowship by the Giovanni Armenise Harvard Foundation and accepted for an internship in Monica Colaiacovo's lab at Harvard Medical School, where she explored her interest for microscopy and fell in love with meiosis. Since late 2022, Elena is a PhD student in the Schuh lab, where she investigates the functions of cytoskeleton in oocytes' asymmetrical division.
