Main Focus

I am a PhD student with the IMPRS for Genome Science. I joined the Liepe group in September 2021. I am particularly interested in post-processing of mass spectrometry search results. Post processing tools are useful for providing more confident peptide identifications.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics at the National University of Ireland, Galway before moving to Trinity College Dublin for my masters in High Performance Computing. I then worked in industry as a research data scientist with the Genesys AI Group for two years.

Curriculum Vitae

since 2021    PhD Student in research group Quantitative and Systems Biology, Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences – I joined the group September 2021 as a PhD Student with the IMPRS for Genome Science. I am particularly interested in post-processing of Mass-Spectrometry search results.

2019 - 2021    Data Scientist, Genesys AI Group – I worked in industry for two years as a research data scientist with a particular interest in sequence learning and recurrent neural networks.

2018 - 2019    Masters in High Performance Computing, Trinity College Dublin – In my masters I studied high performance and massively parallel computing on both CPU and GPU. My thesis focused on parallel training of Support Vector Machines supervised by Dr. Marina Marinkovic.

2014 - 2018    Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, National University of Ireland, Galway – In my undergraduate degree I studied applied mathematics in my home town of Galway. My final year project focused on relativistic electromagnetism supervised by Dr. John Burns.
