Manfred Eigen Award Lecture
The Manfred Eigen Award Lecture series was established in recognition of the founder of the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry and our first Nobel Laureate Manfred Eigen (1927-2019). It was his vision to create an institute where basic biological questions are explored by scientists of all natural science disciplines. With the foundation of the MPI-BPC in 1971 this vision became sustained reality.
With the Manfred Eigen Award Lecture we annually honor an excellent researcher working in the scientific field of Manfred Eigen or in a related area of research. The prize is endowed with 10,000 Euros and associated with awarding of a medal.
