This course will give an overview of the foundations of deep learning and how it is applied to
biomedical images, including an overview of relevant network architectures like convolutional
neural networks and supervised training with gradient descent. It will further introduce popular
tools that make deep learning methods available to practitioners.
To build practical skills, participants will work on solving image analysis problems in hands-on
sessions where they solve analysis problems on already published data and, if available, can also
work on data from their own research.
