September 30, 2015

The next "Karl Friedrich Bonhoeffer Lecture" of the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry will be given by Nick Proudfoot of the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford (Great Britain). The lecture will take place on Thursday, October 8th, at 5 pm in the Manfred Eigen Hall.

The title of the 33rd lecture of the series "Karl Friedrich Bonhoeffer Lecture" will be "Defining transcription units across the human genome". All members of the institute, of other research facilities and all interested people are invited. The talk will be given in English.

The lecture series in the memory of Karl Friedrich Bonhoeffer (1899-1957) has been established in 2004. Karl Friedrich Bonhoeffer was one of the first scientists who had practiced a multi-disciplinary approach in natural sciences and had systematically applied physico-chemical methods towards solving biological problems. To strengthen such multi-disciplinary approaches in current research, and to honor K.F. Bonhoeffer, the new lecture series was founded. It intends to attract scientists from all nearby research areas. The lectures are open not only to members of the MPI but also to colleagues of other institutes and to the public. All lectures will be given in English.
