Ida obtained her B.Sc. in Molecular Biomedicine from the University of Copenhagen with her bachelor’s thesis conducted at the Montreal Children’s hospital in Canada studying embryonic kidney development. In 2016, she was accepted to join the MSc/PhD International Max Planck Research School for Molecular Biology in Göttingen. Having developed an increasing interest for both developmental biology and high-resolution microscopy, she joined the Schuh lab for her master’s thesis studying mitochondrial dynamics and organisation throughout meiosis. Ida is now continuing with her PhD in the Schuh lab studying the enigmatic subcortical maternal complex in mammalian oocytes. Ida has been awarded the Boehringer Ingelheim Fond PhD fellowship for her PhD studies.
