I joined the Rink laboratory in 2026 to explore the fascinating genomic plasticity of planarians. I am interested in understanding the molecular machineries involved in their resilience to irradiative stress, and the consequences of such processes on genomes structures.
Before joining the Rink lab, I obtained a PhD in Genetics from the University of Strasbourg, France. My work consisted in elaborating a Gene Drive to decrease vector competence for arboviruses (i.e. Zika and chikungunya virus) in Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, and to dissect the salivation process of the mosquito in a context of viral transmission.
This PhD helped me build expertise in dealing with endogenous molecular firewalls that protect the genome from exogenous interventions. I am now to use this experience combined to the knowledge acquired during my master’s degree in Genetics at the University Paris Cité, France to dive into the understanding of the fundamentals of genomes maintenance, and I am excited to do so as part of the Rink lab, in the extraordinary models that are planarians!
