Venus received her B.S. in Biology Major in Genetics from the University of the Philippines in 2017. She moved to Taiwan in 2018 and joined the telomere lab of Dr. Liuh-Yow Chen in Academia Sinica as a research assistant for two years. She completed her PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2025 in the same lab, where she studied the role of orphan nuclear receptors in the development of telomerase-negative cancers that rely on the recombination-based mechanism known as Alternative Lengthening of Telomeres (ALT). In 2026, she joined the Schuh lab to investigate telomere function during meiosis.
