Claudia was trained as a butchery saleswoman. After working in that profession for many years, she explored various other fields before joining the MPI-BPC (since 2022 MPI-NAT) in 2015. She initially worked in the Drosophila facility, where she was responsible for preparing various types of fly food, as well as preparing media, plates, and ensuring clean, sterile labware. Over the years, Claudia supported many departments across the institute.
In 2019, she moved to the planarian department, where she fed, cleaned, and bred the worms, prepared solutions and media, and supported the lab with organizational tasks. Claudia joined the Schuh lab in July 2025 and is now looking forward to new challenges and responsibilities.
Her motto: "You can grow old like a cow and still learn something new."
