Welcome to the lab
Scricharan Lakkaraju - Stefan-Hell-Fellow
From Friday, January 21st, until July Sricharan will join our lab as a Stefan-Hell-Fellow.
Sricharan pursued his MSc at Amrita University, Kollam, India, where he lucubrated theoretical concepts of cell signalling pathways involved in stem cell differentiation and the role of morphogens in developing embryos. With the motivation to accrete practical skills in this field, he joined the Institute for Stem cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), Bangalore, where he worked on stem cell epigenetics for his master's dissertation. Subsequently, he worked as a Research Assistant at inStem under Dr. Arvind Ramanathan, where he developed a 3D organoid model using myoblasts, which can eventually be used to study regeneration during injury, or a diseased state like atrophy.
In our lab he will be working closely together with Peter on identifying the factors responsible for head patterning in planaria.
We are happy to have you with us!
